DIR Floortime

DIR Floortime is a treatment approach implemented to facilitate a child’s social emotional development through the application of a specialized framework (The Developmental Individual-differences and Relationship-based Model).

Its individualized application allows a therapist to focus on what motivates the child, meeting them where they are at developmentally and strengthening the foundation of their social, emotional, and intellectual capacities from a bottom-up approach, instead of solely isolating behaviors. DIR can be used to target development in children of all ages, and it is especially helpful for children with emotional or attention-based difficulties.
